The Geneva-based accelerator FinTech FUSION has tapped Strands CIO Marc Torrens to mentor its first batch of startups, Acebanker and Scanye.
FUSION is a year-long program with the aim of pairing the most promising startups from around the world with top FinTech talent to lead innovation in financial services while helping the startups move from beta to revenue generation.
Capitalizing on Switzerland’s position as a global hub for financial services as well as its renown for innovation to drive the financial technology agenda, FUSION has academic sponsorship from some of world’s top engineering research institutes and mentoring support from leading FinTech innovators like Strands.
"We are excited to have Marc on board," said Sébastien Flury, FUSION's Program Director. "We are confident that his FinTech knowledge and business experience will be very beneficial to the startups."
"It's an honor to work with FUSION, their collaboration-based approach is excellent," said Marc. "I also look forward to exchanging knowledge the other mentors in different areas of financial services, such as insurance and trading."
Acebanker is developing a robo-advisor specially designed for the Asian market. They are working to put several years of carefully researched data and insights into good use, setting up their research lab at FUSION to bring advanced artificial intelligence to automated wealth management.
Scanye processes original PDF invoices to create well-structured data files in only 3 steps. Simply drag and drop the PDF invoice and the Scanye system automatically recognizes individual items such as date, due date, description, amount, account payable etc.
